Most people know Craig Gottlieb as one of the leading businessmen in World War I and World War II, specializing in the Third Reich. Others will recognize him from his appearances in anthology reality television shows, most notably, "Pawn Stars."

Craig has been a war collector since childhood and a military dealer since 2000. He started with a rusty German bayonet that his father, a WWII soldier, brought home from the war.
Although Craig offers many military memorabilia, he is most famous for his knowledge of the German army during World War II. With more than 35 years of experience in buying, selling, trading and collecting, as well as writing several books on the subject and appearing in several television programs, he is very popular in the hobby. Military Dealer: Let's start by saying, "'Craig Gottlieb' is one of the most recognizable names in military recruiting." The show has been in filming for a long time, due to contract negotiations with the main actor. I had a few opportunities to pursue more lucrative TV projects. Since I can't be on two channels at the same time, I have to make a decision. We all parted in peace. I may come back sometime in the future.

Now, more than a year later, the show has been sold to the Discovery Channel, and has been shown in Europe this month, and the reviews are good. And why shouldn't they be? Our mission is simple: find the remains and equipment, and personal effects of soldiers lost from the war, and return them to their home countries for proper identification and burial.
Our manifesto takes a strong stand against "black mining" which is a huge problem in Europe. Lawless scavengers think nothing of scattering bones across the forest in search of earthenware to sell... It's a real disaster. Our introduction sheds light on this problem. We received full approval from our host governments in Latvia and Poland and dug in with award-winning battlefield recovery experts. I am proud of what we did and I hope to do it again. We have just received word that the show has been picked up for UK broadcast. That's one step closer to coming here to the states!
Military Dealer: As his direct-to-collector business flourished, he decided to branch out to start online marketing as a source for collectors. Tell us about the Hunter Stores Story.
I made a bold decision to change my business model to a marketing format because the stock market is so amazing, that the old "buy and sell" model no longer works. It is broken. You already know where to buy furniture to play. Today, in a world that has not recovered from the financial disaster of 2008, that is very difficult to do unless you buy something expensive, not necessary.

A better question is, "How has it worked for my customers?" So far, we have had 15 auctions, with an average of 300 items in each auction. Out of almost 5,000 items, I got about 10 back. It is a small price to pay for the pride of knowing that we are doing our job, and that collectors have a new way to buy and sell.

I love how easy it is to get from one side of the hall to the other in a few minutes, but there are problems. First, I realized that when I was browsing, I missed some of the best "finds".
